A maiden dressed in white stands barefoot in the dappled forest light. She lets the earth rise between her toes as she meditates in silence. This card calls you to connect with nature, following intuition rather than habit. Wander where guided, avoiding well-trodden paths and your usual stomping grounds. Although, you may want to visit them for a spell if you feel called. Do whatever you please and trust your instincts to guide you to where you need to be.
Places exist that brim with vital life force – a shaded glen, wise ancient tree, burbling stream. You will feel it when you are there. Stop, go barefoot and breathe deeply. Set thoughts of past and future adrift. Observe the sensations in your body. Notice the beauty surrounding you, then gently close your eyes.
If you listen closely, you may hear the sounds of nature enveloping you. If you listen closer still, you may hear the voices of the beings in the area that you’ve chosen. There won’t be words that you can perceive with your ears, they will come in the form of phrases in your mind. It could be a single word or a sentence. Trust what you are receiving. You may also see an image in your mind’s eye – a golden leaf, a rainbow or a mandala. Whatever you see, know that is meant for you.
When you open your eyes, you will be cleansed and purified. You should feel lighter, brighter, much more together and ready to embrace the world. Yet before returning to worldly realms, offer gratitude to the land. Speak from your heart or bow in humble silence. Show your appreciation through tender loving care – clearing debris, planting seeds, or leaving a crystal behind as a gift.
Within civilisation’s fuss and stress, it’s easy to forget living lightly. Yet nature is always there to welcome you back home. However briefly, come wander her wildness, and discover yourself anew. Here you are purified, bathed in forest light.
