There is something that is being ignored. You’re aware of it but the shroud is stopping you from examining the issue. Perhaps you’ve been blind to it for quite some time? It has been outside of your field of perception but it has been nagging at you to give it attention.
We often refuse to look at something because it feels too painful to address. The veracity of it would be earth-shattering. It would lead us into disillusionment. That is to say, it would remove our illusions. We sometimes prefer the comfort of our shadowy misconceptions over the stark brightness of truth. Fiction is often more pleasing than fact.
That being said, to live a lie is no way to live. With our heads buried in the sand, we are not safe from harm, far from it. We leave ourselves exposed this way. It is not an effective defence against the vicissitudes of fortune, that can quickly overpower us if we are not careful. We must be wise, alert and vigilant if we are to spot predators that are lurking in the shadows. Sometimes, these can be wolves in sheep’s clothing, enrobing themselves in benevolence only to reveal their true natures later on. Watch out for those that speak fine words but behave differently. We can be easily seduced by charismatic frauds that wish to do us harm.
While ignorance might seem blissful for a few, it often comes at a high cost. Failing to stay informed can result in missed opportunities and, at worst, put us in harm’s way. Deception is part of life, and everyone may occasionally fall victim to it, but not all deceptions are equal. A single lapse in judgement could have severe consequences.
To truly see, you must remove the shroud you’ve cast over yourself. Confront the situation with clear and open eyes. Seek the truth with courage and determination. Even if this pursuit leads to more questions than answers, embrace each one as it arises. With time and diligence, the truth will unveil itself. Leave no stone unturned and, once you’ve gathered enough knowledge, rest assured that you’ve lifted the shroud that once kept you in the dark.
