The Peaking Goddess Collective are simply divine. They’re a combination of Electronica and Rock with spiritual overtones. They merge analogue instruments with digital and electric sounds with acoustic. They’re primarily a jam band and their songs are sprawling psychedelic down-tempo masterpieces. With only one perfectly-formed album, they leave us wanting more. Personally, I can’t get enough of them and I’ve used pretty much every song of theirs at some point in my mixes. Perhaps it’s because they’re so good at producing music that allows you to be horizontal on the couch, slowly turning into a potato whilst partaking in the Devil’s Lettuce. I’ve never understood that phrase. Surely a benevolent entity was involved in that particular creation? I mean, it does soften the blows of existence somewhat.
Listen: Organika
Psychemagik creates wonderful sonic soundscapes filled with joy and delight. They are pioneers and trailblazers, forging a path that is underscored by excellence. They are crate diggers of the finest quality and this is reflected in the lush evocative music that they produce. Whether they’re compiling a mix or producing their own symphonic sounds, their meticulous attention to detail is astounding. They are able to stir the emotions with ease, moving from the depths of melancholy to sheer bliss and back again. They specialise in downtempo dance music on their original productions and obscure funk on their mixes. Both avenues are excellent, well worth checking out. Let them cast their transcendent spell on you. Psychemagik are connoisseurs of sound-craft, tapped into the ineffable, a mainline to the Divine.
Transport yourself back to the 80’s with this pristine Synthwave Retro-Pop genius. Sheer joy.
Listen: Nocturnal
Weird and wonderful jam band spanning multiple genres. They even have a meditation album!
Listen: Peace
Jazz, Funk, Blues, Rock, R&B and Soul. This diva has an epic set of pipes on her. Electrifying vocals.
Listen: At Last
Can’t beat a bit of hedonistic hippy excess. Dionysus would be proud. It’s The Doors, can’t go wrong.
Listen to anything!
Life's An Anagram Of "THIS!"
Sometimes life’s a bit pants. Not in the American way, of course. Because those pants are totally fine. They’re outer pants, not underpants with skid-marks on them. Not much can cheer you up when your grundies are covered in poo-stains. It stinks, in other words, which rhymes with turds. And birds. They like covering your car with their droppings. Of course, that’s an automobile that you park in your garage. You could always stuff those soiled undies in the boot of your car. That would be a trunk in your parlance. For us in the UK, that’s a part of an elephant or a euphemism for a penis. I’m talking rubbish. Best put this conversation in the bin where it belongs. I mean trash, of course!
Anyway, here’s a mix of odds and sods. Bands that I love. Spanning Jazz, Funk, Soul, Electronic and Classic Rock. It doesn’t make much sense stylistically speaking but you know what? I like it. It was fun to do and it’s great to drive to or chill out with. Lots of love Michelle.
