A seriously whacky and eclectic collection of short sets created for open mic nights. The emphasis is on bass music here, whether it be psybass, psybient, future dub, drum and bass, techno or house. Some elements are dark and brooding and in your face, whilst others are delicate and subtle and harmonious. It’s a whole mixed bag of tricks designed to take the listener on a journey into unexplored sonic territories. No anthems on offer here, just weird and wonderful phat beats, Armageddon on the streets.
These two are great musicians in their own right but a special kind of alchemy occurs on this collaboration. It’s visionary and captivating with dub skanks, melodious moments, and elevated higher consciousness thematics. Every track is a gem and each one sparkles with a luminescent light. When we unify with others we often find that we create something greater than the sum of its parts. This is as close to sonic perfection as it gets. It’s an album that I return to time and time again. The tunes just demand to be played – at home or on the dance floor. The journey undulates delicately and evocatively, it whisks us away into another dimension. The layers of bubbly burbling beauty and off-kilter woozy whooshes and symphonic swooshes makes it quite the ride. A stunning masterpiece of pure psychedelic joy.
